At Greater
St. James Church in Macon,
GA., Reverend
Lewis Releford, Jr. has something BIG going on. That something is a
personal dream and a vision for his church that will
soon come to fruition.
Greater St. James Church of God in
Christ
Rev.
Releford is the pastor of Greater St. James Church of
God in Christ. He
has pastored there since 1998 and served as Chairman of
the Macon District and President of the State Mission
Department from 2002-2005. He was appointed
District Superintendent for the Macon District in May
2005. Pastor Releford organized the ACTS (Action
Community Transitional Services Corporation) in 2001 to
provide training, education and social enrichment to the
community. Now is an opportunity to puts ACTS to
work.
Recently, a piece of property with two buildings
standing on it were donated to his church and he knows
exactly what he wants to do with it. “It has always
been my goal to help the church grow spiritually. We need to have a spiritual impact on the nearby
neighborhood,” says Rev. Releford.
Donated Buildings
Remodeling will begin on the two buildings next
month.
If it’s a
spiritual impact Rev. Releford’s looking for, we think
he’s heading in the right direction. His plans for
the remodeled buildings include transitional housing for
single moms, temporary housing for those who just need a
hand-up to get on their feet, and even housing for drug
addicts trying to get clean. These are lofty
goals, but they can be achieved through hard work,
dreams, and the grace and mercy of Jesus
Christ.
Reverend
Releford is
married to Evangelist Missionary Angela Releford and they have been blessed with
8 children. They invite you to attend services with
them at the following location at the following
