The Central
Georgia Diagnostics Division of the Medical Center of
Central Georgia will hold its 15th annual
Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll on December 1,
2007. All proceeds
from this year’s race will fund new lifesaving equipment
and services at The Children’s
Hospital.
Trophies and
ribbons will be presented to the winners of the Reindeer
Run, which is a 5K Run/Walk that begins at
8:30am sharp. The 1 mile Santa
Stroll begins at 9:00am.

Last year's Reindeer
Run
The leader
in pediatric healthcare for Central and
South
Georgia for many
years, The Children’s Hospital serves over 45,000
children each year from more than 29 counties. This 112-bed facility
provides care to children from infancy to 17 years in
age regardless of their ability to pay.

Santa Stroll
participants
In past
years, the Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll have made it
possible to complete projects at The Children’s Hospital
such as the expansion of the Neonatal Intensive Care
Nursery by six beds. This nursery
makes it possible for infants born as early as 23 weeks
and weighing less than a pound survive and become
healthy toddlers.
Just last month (October 2007), the HOPE for Kids
(Hematology
Oncology Place of
Excellence) opened its doors to children diagnosed with
cancer and blood disorders.
Proceeds
from this year’s race will fund new lifesaving equipment
and services for The Children’s Hospital and in the
future, expansion of intermediate care services and new
technologically advanced, child-friendly equipment. The Children’s
Hospital relies on donations to continue to provide the
possible healthcare for the smallest of
Central
Georgia
residents.
