“Get Out the Vote Awards Luncheon” at
Savannah
State
University
(Student Center Ballroom), Saturday,
June 21, 2008,

The
newspapers are being honored for their exemplary
coverage of the ongoing movement to bring justice and
closure to the unsolved lynchings and massacre at the
Moore’s
Ford
Bridge,
Monroe,
Georgia
.

media news agencies are most worthy of this
recognition,” said Rep. Tyrone Brooks, President of
GABEO. “Through hard news articles, personal
columns and OP EDs they have given very consistent
coverage of this issue.”
