Celebrating More
Than A Century Of Life

Wilella Thomas turned 105 on Saturday, November 18th.  Macedonia Senior Ministry surprised her with a birthday luncheon to honor their oldest member.  Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert and Commissioner Elaine Lucas were in attendance a proclamation was presented and read making it "Mrs. Wilella Curley Thomas Day".  More than 75 church members and friends came to wish her a happy birthday.  Thomas said "it's because of God's grace that she's lived to see her 105th birthday".

Mrs. Wilella Thomas was born in Montgomery, AL and was very active in the Civil Rights movement with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. She moved to Macon in 2000 and has one daughter and one granddaughter.

Church member Jonas Straws said Thomas is a woman of strong faith. "There is no question that God's favor has been on the life of Sister Wilella and her daughter who cares for her so lovingly"..
