I am presently dating a woman with two small children who has never been married. I am very much in love with her and the kids. The funny part is that I used to laugh at my friends, because I could not understand why a single guy would want a woman with two kids. But this woman is the most beautiful person I've ever met. We have dated for 18 months and I'm afraid of starting my future with her. I am 27 and so is she. She made a couple of mistakes in her life, but that's in the past. My friends and relatives think I would be making a big mistake if I married her. What do you think?

If she loves you (you didn't say so in your letter) and the children love you, by all means, marry her. It is the four of you that will make up the family unit, not your friends and family. I say go for it.
