Roy & Greg's Movie Review

Bobby

Plot Overlaid with footage of some of RFK's most stirring speeches, "Bobby" tells the story of the assassination of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, as viewed through the eyes of the staff and guests of the Ambassador Hotel, where the event occurred.

Why You Should See It: The individual performances are riveting to watch and what a diverse group they are!  There's an angry young black civil rights activist (Nick Cannon), a booze hound lounge singer and her husband/manager (Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez), two retired doormen (Anthony Hopkins, Harry Belafonte), a racist hotel manager (Christian Slater) and a drug dealer(Ashton Kutcher) living inside the hotel, to name a few.  And I haven't even mentioned Sharon Stone, Laurence Fishburne, Martin Sheen and Helen Hunt, among others.

Ratings Greg: 9 out of 10

Deja Vu

Plot - Producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun, 48 Hrs, CSI) and director Tony Scott (Crimson Tide, Man On Fire, Enemy of the State) combine to craft this thriller about an ATF agent (Denzel Washington) who travels back in time to save a woman from being murdered.  After a terrorist attack on a New Orleans ferry, in which 540 people are killed, ATF agent Doug Carlin is called to the scene to investigate and links the bomber to a woman named Claire (Paula Patton), whose body was found some distance upriver.  He then hooks up with a "time window" lab by FBI agent Pryzwarra (Val Kilmer), that has software that can look 4 days into the past.  The FBI wants to catch the bomber, but for Carlin, it's more personal: he's fallen for Claire and wants to save her life - 4 days after she dies!

Why You Should See It: Denzel!  Paula Patton (Idlewild)!  Time Travel!  Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ) as the right-wing bad guy!  Did I mention Denzel is in it?  There are worse ways to spend two hours (like the upcoming "Turistas").

Ratings Greg: 7.5 out of 10

                 Roy : 9 out of 10
