Rev. Dante Rome

Reverend Dante Rome is a long way from his birthplace, but he doesn't mind. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Reverend Rome now pastors St. James AME Church in Macon, Georgia and he's happy to be there. "St. James is a wonderful church with dedicated members," he said.

St. James AME's newest pastor actually grew up in New Orleans and went to college in California. He received his Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies and his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from California State University in Sacramento, California. He is married to the lovely Diedre Rome and the couple has one son.

Reverend Rome preached his first sermon at St. James AME on May 17, 2009. Before coming to St. James, he served as Assistant Pastor at Bethel AME Church on Mumford Road in Macon for a year after pastoring at Bethel AME Church in Marysville, California.

An educator as well, Reverend Rome teaches 5th grade at Burghard Elementary School on Bloomfield Road in Macon.

Reverend Rome and his congregation would like to invite the public to worship with them at the location and times below.
