- Rep. Mickey Stephens (D-Savannah)
- Sen. Doug Stoner )D-Smyrna)
- Rep. Al Williams (D-Midway)

"I am delighted and honored to have so many distinguished members of the Democratic Legislative Caucus supporting my candidacy in the upcoming primary," Farokhi said. "They represent a broad and diverse base of support, including Georgia's largest cities, our suburbs, small towns and rural communities from all areas of the state. What they all have in common is a commitment to join me in making public education in Georgia our top priority once again. They know that I am Democratic candidate with the strongest chance to win in November."

A lifelong Georgian with more than 30 years' experience as an educator, Beth Farokhi is the most qualified candidate in the field. Beth has been on the cutting edge of education as a teacher - teaching students from ages 6 to 96 - and as an administrator in the College of Education at Georgia State University advocating for professional educators and developing curriculum for our teacher education programs at all levels. She worked on nonprofit national boards, bringing together innovative ideas from across the country to strengthen education. Beth knows how to find solutions and get things done by working within the state's various agencies.

Her tireless efforts over the past 11 months on the campaign trail also demonstrate her dedication to improving education in Georgia and have resulted in a surge of support across the state. During the first quarter of 2010, Farokhi raised more campaign contributions than any other candidate for State School Superintendent. For more information, visit
