Ruth Austin Knox

President of Wesleyan College

As the daughter of an alumni and a trustee, it was clear to Ruth Knox that she would always be closely tied to Wesleyan College.  After receiving her English degree from Wesleyan, Knox attended the University of Georgia and there obtained her Juris Doctorate, Magna Cum Laude, in 1978.  She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia that same year and joined a national law firm specializing in complex commercial real estate and public finance transactions.  twelve years later, she founded her own firm, specializing in real estate and estate planning.  But her native home called her and she returned to Macon to become the current President of Wesleyan College, her alma mater.
