Columbus man has netted a win worth millions. David
Huff, 46, won $5 million playing the Georgia Lottery instant game
Georgia ’s $500 Million
Club.
Circle K Stores #6678, 215 Fourth St. in Columbus , sold the winning ticket. The father of
four scratched the ticket just outside of his car. What
he discovered, Huff said, was
unbelievable.
“I broke my glasses trying to look at the
ticket,” he said. “I was sure of what I saw, so I had to
take a deep breath
Huff, who likes to go fishing, plans to buy a
boat, a house and a car.
“I want to carry on with life as it is now,” he
said. “I just haven’t gotten over the feeling yet.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery
Corporation has returned over $9 billion to the state of
Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific
educational programs including Georgia ’s HOPE
Scholarship Program and Georgia ’s Prekindergarten
Program. More than 1 million students have received
HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended
the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten
program.
