father from Macon.
Julius Sharpe played the Georgia Lottery instant game
Jumbo Bucks Classic and won $50,000.

sold the top prize ticket. Sharpe scratched the ticket
at home.

“I
was in shock for a minute, but I was happy,” said
Sharpe, 46.
According
to Sharpe, who is expecting the birth of a daughter in
November, his Georgia Lottery win comes at a great
time.
“I’m
going to get a new house, and then the baby’s coming,”
he shared.
Since
its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has
returned over $9.3 billion to the state of
Georgia
for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for
specific educational programs including
Georgia’s
HOPE Scholarship Program and
Georgia
’s Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students
have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds
have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten
program.
