“I was at home when I was overcome with a lucky feeling,” she said.

Reid purchased the ticket at 49ER Food Mart, 2440 Shurling Drive in Macon , and scratched it at home.

“I just started shaking,” she said. “I called all of my family members. Before I knew it, they were all there.

“It hasn’t hit me,” Reid added. “It’s so unreal.”

A mother of one adult son, Reid plans to pay off her bills and share the prize money with immediate family members.

“I want to be able to take care of myself and my family,” she shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $10.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia ’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia ’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
