Macon Man Cashes In With $30,000 Cashword Prize

A Macon resident is spelling out “winner.” Larry Haynes played the Georgia Lottery instant game Cashword and won $30,000

Chevron Food Mart, located at 1681 Rocky creek Road in Macon, sold the lucky top prize ticket.

Haynes, 38, works as a heavy equipment cab operator. He and his wife, Pamela, have three children.

According to Haynes, he is looking forward to purchasing a new car.

“I’m going to pay bills, and I definitely plan to get another car,” he shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia ’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia ’s Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
