A nurse from Ocilla has 50,000 more
reasons to be thankful as Thanksgiving approaches. Nora
Coffee, 42, played the Georgia Lottery instant game Fast

Coffee
purchased her top prize ticket at GTT Corp., located at
167 Ocilla
Highway in
Fitzgerald. She scratched the ticket at
home.
“I just
gasped,” Coffee said. “I couldn’t believe it. It was
very shocking. I couldn’t say
anything.”
Coffee, who
works as a nurse in Fitzgerald, has two children – a
daughter, 22, and a son, 13.
“My kids can
have a very Merry Christmas,” she exclaimed. “It came
just in time.”
According to
Coffee, she also plans to “pay off some bills and
probably save the rest.”
Since its
first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned
over $10.3 billion to the state of
Georgia for
education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for
specific educational programs including
Georgia’s HOPE
Scholarship Program and
Georgia’s Pre-K
Program. More than 1.1 million students have received
HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended
the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten
program.
